Wabash is located in North Central Indiana, about 85 miles from Indianapolis. The land around Wabash is mostly agricultural, where large crops of corn, wheat and soybeans grow.

Wabash became the first electrically lighted city in the world on March 31, 1880!

Other innovations to come out of this Hoosier city are a hot water heating system and thermostats by businessman Mark C. Honeywell. Mr. Honeywell made his fortune as a co-founder of Honeywell, Inc. and created the Honeywell Center in his hometown of Wabash.

Country music singer Crystal Gayle and racecar driver Jimmy Daywalt are also famous Wabash natives.
