Spring Art Workshops Announced
The Honeywell Center is accepting reservations for a series of three Spring Art Workshops being held in the Honeywell Center Gym and led by local artist Candie Cooper beginning in late March.
Felted Flowers: Wed., March 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Create an artsy flower from wool and silk while learning some new techniques in this class. Participants will sculpt while wet felting and create interest and layers by exploring alternative materials with a felting needle. $25 per person.
Felt and Metal Jewelry: Mon., April 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This class combines metalwork with felting, using felt beads. You will learn how to make tin bead caps and sterling ear wires to be combined with embellished felt beads. You will leave with matching earrings and pendant set. $45 per person.
Spoon Necklace with Matching Earrings: Thurs., May 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bring a treasured spoon, or Candie will have some to share and create a unique necklace. Participants will learn how to saw and drill the spoon to create a pendant as well as other beginning metalwork techniques, and then make a pair of matching beaded earrings. Beads will be provided, but participants can bring their own beads as well. For ages 15 and up. $45 per person.
Fees include all materials. Tools will be provided. Reservations can be made through the Honeywell Center’s ticketing system by visiting the box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, by calling (260) 563-1102 or visiting www.honeywellcenter.org.
